Hello!

I just wanted to clarify, there were issues with logging in to the security aspect of the blog, all is well now and the blogs should be back on track! I apologize for any complications this may have caused, but we are back on track! Below is the student update from Day 10, enjoy!

Ciaowdy,

To start off the day, we traveled on the train one stop over to the quaint town of Arezzo. Some of the group arrived in Arezzo early in order to explore the town before the hustle and bustle of the Tuscan workday. We all met at the train station and embarked on a guided tour led by Giovani, the tour guide for both the Ufizzi art gallery and Castiligion Fiorentino. During the tour, we visited the town square that is famous from the movie Life is Beautiful as well as the Church of San Francesco, the Arezzo cathedral, and the Pieve di Santa Maria.  After our tour, we gathered for lunch at a small, family run restaurant, where we ate a carrot quiche and Alfredo pasta. We dispersed after lunch into groups for local antique shopping, site seeing on top the town bell tower, and visiting an archaeological museum. The groups departed from Arezzo at various times throughout the afternoon, depending upon our afternoon activities. Several students decided to take part in an artisan cheese tasting at a nearby shop located in the heart of Castiglion Fiorentino. They sampled seven cheeses and some of the favorites included Tartufino and Pecorino Stagionato. Once the cheese tasting concluded, everyone met back for the usual three course dinner at the Park Hotel. We were served macaroni styled pasta, german sausage, and a fresh fruit salad. As usual, we finished off the night with gelato by the train station.

Until next time,
