This morning started off with our usual breakfast of yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, bread and cappuccinos. Then we did our pecha keucha presentations. Groups presented about the significance and ties to leadership about places like the Vatican, the Duomo, Uffizi, Assisi, Rome and the Colosseum. Everyone embraced the game, fitting in 20 slides in 7 minutes with great information. This was followed with the glorious activity of free time. We went to Ristorante de Muzzicone where Abram got some incredible truffle pasta, Jack and Wes got great stracetti while Barrett got gnocchi and Madeleine tried some tiramisu. We then  went to get our daily gelato. We arrived before the gelateria even opened and discussed everyone’s injuries sustained in their lives. We got to get the first scoops of gelato for the day which was very satisfying. There were dislocated shoulders, kneecaps and concussions. Gelato was followed by a return to the hotel for Ed sessions about civil discourse, leadership and the first two weeks of school— its expectations and opportunities. Mariam then presented her lab research to all of us. It was a great presentation that she’s gonna ace in Atlanta. Everyone had some more free time. Some rested, some went to the pool and others did laundry. The pool provided a great opportunity for some to spend some much needed quality time together. We played jackpot, monkey in the middle, volleyball, and la boletta only tried to run away a couple times! It was a great way to beat the heat right after the ac cut out in the hotel lobby. Dinner consisted of a main course of meat salad and an ultra sweet strawberry yogurt dessert. We look forward to traveling to Cortona tomorrow!!
