Project Description

Howdy! My name is Sarah Swift! I am a junior Biomedical Engineering Major (and Philosophy Minor) from Magnolia, Texas (A-A-A Whoop)! I am SO PUMPED to serve as one of your Peer Leaders on the trip! A mere two years ago, I was an Italy Fish myself, so I have been in your very shoes! I absolutely love Texas A&M, and a big part of that love comes from my extra-curricular involvement. I have been involved in MSC Aggie Leaders of Tomorrow, The Big Event (as a Staff Assistant and Committee Member), Horizons Consulting Guild, and my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. I am also passionate about my church in College Station, Declaration Church, and will also be serving as an Impact Counselor this summer! I work as an undergraduate researcher in a Biomedical Optics laboratory. I am also in University Honors as well as Engineering Honors programs, and have the privilege of serving as an ambassador for the University Honors program as a University Scholar. I love love love leadership development, and have attended the Gilbert Leadership Conference and am the Director of Programs for the Abbott Family Leadership Conference at A&M. I also am a long-term volunteer with Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership seminar. I am passionate about medical innovation (especially in developing countries), nonprofit business, meeting new people, ethical philosophy, traveling, coffee, CS Lewis, Micheangelo, and ITALY! Phew, that was a mouthful, but most importantly, I cannot wait to meet and travel with you all!
