Project Description
Howdy! I’m Michael Opiela, a graduating senior from Westside High School in Houston, Texas. I’m a former Varsity Football and Track & Field athlete, an assistant on the Track team, member of the Westside Engineering & Geosciences Academy, and National Honor Society member. I volunteer at St. Francis de Sales Church, and am a former camper, now Counselor at Camp Sandcastle in Corpus Christi, Texas, a camp for Type 1 Diabetic children. I’m a National Hispanic Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, and co-author of the Best Abstract Presentation at the Babies & Animals Medical Conference 2018. I’m an incoming freshman at TAMU, and will major in Biomedical Engineering. An interesting fact about me is that I love to listen to music everywhere I go. Gig ‘Em!
