Buona sera!
Today was our first full day in Venezia (Venice). It’s just as hot here as it is in Texas right about now, but bearing with the sun’s oppression was certainly worth the full experience of the grandeur of the city. This morning some of us went to mass at St. Mark’s Cathedral, while others headed to the bell tower in Piazza San Marco to get an early start on the day. Around noon, just about everyone experienced a taste of modern art at the Peggy Guggenheim collection.
After lunch, Aggies split into smaller groups to experience some of the more hidden gems of Venice, and some of the group headed back to Lido to rest up before dinner. We all met up for dinner on Lido at Ristorante Isola di’Oro and enjoyed one of our last bowls of pasta together. After dinner, most of us headed back to Venice on the boat for an enchanting tour through the canals on gondolas while others kept exploring all of the beauty that the city has to offer. Reminiscent of the memories of the Coco Palm in Castiglion Fiorentino, some of us headed to local gelaterías for one of our last nights of authentic Italian gelato. All in all, we’re a bit disappointed that the trip is coming to an end, but we are extremely grateful for the time we’ve spent together and all the memories we’ll bring home with us. We all look forward to our final day together tomorrow!
Buona notte!
