Happy Tuesday! Today, we started off with the usual continental breakfast at the hotel. We then had the privilege of taking the city bus down to Santa Maria degli Angeli Church at the bottom of the hill.  This was our first time on Italian public transportation. Inside the church, we saw the chapel built by St. Francis himself! The architecture and artwork was absolutely beautiful! As we exited, we met an adorable and friendly cat and went into the book store. On the bus ride back, we met a group of students from Spain. They sang several songs in Spanish, and we loved listening! When we got back, we had free time to get our last delicious lunch in Assisi and shop. Some of us even got Birkenstocks for way cheaper than in the US! We then had our final Italian lesson at the Assisi Italian Language Academy, where we “graduated” with lovely “diplomas.” We got gelato before heading to the classroom to learn about the numerous amazing opportunities available at Texas A&M. We are all so excited to get to Texas A&M in the fall! Right after our Ed Session, we ate our final dinner in Assisi on the hotel rooftop with a brilliant view of the city (including the castle on the hill!) We were quickly swarmed by bees, but the delicious birthday ice cream for Wes, Selena, and Kaitlyn definitely made up for it! After our dinner, we were back in the classroom for a briefing on our trip to Deruta, Perugia, and Castiglion Fiorentino tomorrow. Once the briefing was over, we headed over to our usual café, where we got our last gelato from our favorite city! As we ate our gelato, we were serenaded by a wonderfully talented group of musicians in the square, making the night even more bittersweet!

Buonanotte Assisi!
